I Tried The Most Affordable OTT Plan in India ft. Airtel Xstream Fiber

Okay, I’ll get straight to the point. If you want a DTHO fiber connection in India, there are lots of options, but here’s the problem: I wanted the most affordable plan that had these OTT apps. Sony Live because I watch UFC and WWE. If you’re a UFC fan, just comment, Shama. And Disney Plus Hotstar because my mom loves the Indian series Rona Rona. And my niece still watches Madagascar and Pixar movies. My dad wants a TV channel for his news and sports.

So I searched for the Airtel Extreme Plan. It starts at 699 rupees per month, and yeah, there is no security deposit. I got my OTT apps, and last week we also did the same internet fiber video on Airtel; you guys loved it. So to expand on the series, we got the minimum rest, if that’s a word, the Airtel Extreme Fiber Plan in India, and I’ll share my practical experience, whatever benefits we got in the plan, OTT apps, and how is the 40 mbps with downloading and uploading files in India? By the way, this video was made in collaboration with Airtel, but we’ll talk about my practical experiences and features with the Airtel Extreme Plan. First of all, you get this dual-band router; the installation and everything else are done by Airtel executives. Now in the office, we have a 200 Mbps connection, but you will get the same router with the 40 Mbps plan as well, which is at my home. Now we were recently using an Android app that tells you signal strength via AR, and you can see the network strength on the floor. Now we are thinking of doing an Android app video again. You guys loved it, so if this video hits 10,000 likes, we will do it.

Now I’ll show you the speed test at two different places. This is near the router, and this is far away from the router, with a wall in between. And we also got this Airtel Extreme Fiber Entertainment box. Oh, there’s a good thing to see. They have all the superheroes, and they also have Menon Murli. Our Indian superheroes. Do watch them. It’s a very good one. You can also see all the OTT apps that you get with the Airtel Extreme Play app. There’s Sony Live, Netflix, Disney Hotstar, and Prime Video. Oh, and there’s also a sticker. When you’re watching a Netflix series late at night, Netflix is for you. Just one more episode. Now, the plan starts at Rs. 699. You get a Sony Live subscription, a Disney Plus Hotstar VIP plan, 20 Plus OTT apps, a 40 Mbps Airtel Extreme connection, and 350 Plus TV channels. So for simplicity, I calculated the individual cost of these subscriptions versus the bundled price. Now, of course, the bundle price has to be cheaper; otherwise, why would you get the bundle? And all these app subscriptions, either you can access them individually or you can go through the Airtel Extreme Play app. I was surprised the app exists for Android TVs, Android phones, and even Samsung TVs. So you can browse the 12+ OTT apps catalog. The other day, I was bingeing on Raj and DK movies, and I wanted to watch Go Goa Gone. And to my surprise, it was moved from Prime Video to Eros Now. And now you have to get the Eros Now subscription. But then I went to the Airtel Extremeplay app, and Erosnow is now included. And I could just easily watch Go Goa Goan, either inside the Airtel Extremeplay app or just use Erosnow separately and log in with the same mobile number. Now, of course, as you buy the higher plan, you get more OTT apps, so you get like 20+ OTT apps, to be precise. If you get the 1599 plan, you even get Netflix and Prime Video and a 300 Mbps fiber connection as well. Now, this is very interesting because, as per this KPMG report, the number of OTT subscribers in India is expected to reach 62.7 crores by the end of this year.

So, every year, it is rising by 36%, and per paying user, you see every user has 2.4 subscription plans. And now, I believe these bundle offers or extreme fiber plans are the main reason. I wouldn’t personally buy a separate 12 OTT app subscription or even Sony Live or Disney Plus Hotstar together unless I’m getting them much cheaper in a bundle package. Now, last but not least, you can manage everything through the Airtel app. You can change the Wi-Fi password and manage your router through the Airtel app. You can also recharge and do everything with one app. And now I also took this under Airtel Black because I already have an Airtel Postpaid SIM card. So all the fiber, postpaid, and DTH bills come together. To get Airtel Black, you just have to go inside the Airtel app, go to services, and you will see the banner for Airtel Black. You just have to go and pair all your connections, and you will get everything under one Airtel Black.
